
Recent research on parasite toxoplasma proved old housewives howling and myht regarding cat parasite baseless. Now no longer granny’s will warn — stay away from cats.
As per scientists it has been verified that women who are infected with common cat parasite deliver more baby boys than baby girls.
Medical records of 1,803 infants born between 1996 and 2004 were collected, tested and checked by various researchers in the Czech Republic so as to get full and detailed information on the mothers and their babies.
Information in specific included - gender of babies, the number of preceding pregnancies along with full information on the mother’s levels of toxoplasma antibodies.
The results revealed were amazing — women with high antibody showed much higher chance of having baby boys.
Generally birth rate of boys in almost all the populations has been around 51% however the women having toxoplasma parasites has up to 72% chances of having a baby boy.
Till now,what we had discovered regarding Toxoplasma parasite was that many a time it instigates inborn defects in infants and can even cause miscarriages, however now a new discovery that has been done is that toxoplasma has some direct links with the gender of infacnts.

Jaroslav Flegr and his team at Charles University in Prague believe –
the parasite may interfere with the immune systems of pregnant women and make it more likely for male embryos to survive.
Tim Weghitt, an expert in toxoplasma at Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge said –
levels of the parasite infection were lower in Britain than in countries such as France and Belgium where rare and uncooked meat is popular.
Till now this parasite in most cases has done no harm to humans nevertheless its still hazy or in dark what this infection can do to human in long run.
