According to research, one out of eight babies born in the U.S is a premature baby. On an average around 5,00,000 pre-term deliveries take place in the country. Over a period of twenty years this number has outgrown by 30%.
As far as the reason behind these premature babies is concerned, even doctors are not sure. They believe that it can happen to almost any body. No doubts, complications during pregnancy can be one reason for this kind of a birth, apart from this, no valid reasons are still known.
Doctors opine that with regular screenings and ultrasound exams together with tighter guidelines for infertility treatments can bring this situation under control. And it is extremely important to do so, because at the end of the day preemies do not lead a normal life at the end of the day, so it’s better to save them.
