The pregnant ladies have a never-ending list of ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’. And, why not? When we plan to bring a child into this world all the precautions need to be taken for the mother’s and child’s health.
Adding to the list, in the UK, the Department of Health warned all the pregnant ladies to avoid touching sheep - which can spark miscarriages and birth defects.
Contact with ewes (the female sheep), especially in the coming lambing season, can cause infections from flocks to spread to people, the Department said.
It stressed risks were low. But mothers-to-be should get medical advice if they have fever or flu-like symptoms after being near farms.
A little extra care and precaution can indeed go a long way in making the pregancy risk-free.
