According to a recent study, abortions among pregnant teenagers are reaching alarming proportions. Ever since the Labour came to power in the U.K., the number of teenage abortions has increased by a staggering 2,500 each year.

Unlike the developing world, teenage pregnancy in developed countries is usually outside of marriage, and may carry a social stigma in some communities and cultures.
There are numerous reasons for the rise in teenage pregnancies. A casual attitude to sex, inadequate sex education, peer pressure, and last but not the least the sexualized content present in the media are some of the factors responsible for the rise in teenage pregnancies.
According to a spokesperson for the anti-abortion charity Alive and Kicking,
these figures are the result of the modern attitude to sexuality - that sex is just a recreational activity.
Not only does adolescent parenthood cause devastating effects on families, studies have shown that the children born to teenage mothers are more prone to abuse, neglect, and malnutrition.
As per the World Health Organization, the risk of death following pregnancy is twice as much for women in the age group of 15 to 19 years, than, for those between the ages of 20 and 24.
Before it is too late, we need to find workable solutions to end this high rate of abortions among the teen mothers. If we don’t, then, not only will we compromise our national productivity but we would also not be able to use up the tax payers money more effectively.

i think that abortions are VERY wrong and cruel, and i think any person who is ”open” minded should get the exact same treatment as the child,including the mothers who have done it, the teenagers, the women who are all for it,the men, the dr’s the nurses.
these children are meant to be here for a reason, other wise their unfit mothers wouldnt have been blessed with them,instead of giving the child a chace, they becomes selfish, they think of them selv and their family.

Abortions are like killing a person and i belive its is wrong because if you go back in history you’lll see that it was all to worship a god which i forgot the name at this moment. Though i belive that when your life is over on ressurection day that you will always hear a cry of the baby you aborted, it is a sin!!!!!!!!!!!!! This entire thread is dumb. Abortions are not as graphic as the above picture. Abortions are the removal of cells from the womb. Nothing more, nothing less. To equate a cluster of cells to a human life is incorrect. It is only POTENTIAL human life. It cannot think, it cannot breath, hell, it probably doesnt have a heart beat yet. Its the mother’s decision to abort- not yours. Its a liberty we have in The United States of America, and if you have a problem with that, then move somewhere else.
Furthermore, were we to deliberately ban abortions in the United States of America, who’s to say the impregnated mother/teen won’t abort themselves in another manner....say with a coat hanger. Such an action as abortion is better left to trained professionals: its safer and can be monitored to a greater extent.
Leave it to the professionals and the mothers to decide, not your arrogant pseudo-science, blind conservative ethics and religious zeal.

Whether you think abortion is wrong or not is irrelevant. You don’t have to get one if you don’t want one. But since not everyone holds the same morals you shouldn’t be telling someone what they’re doing with their body and child is illegal.
Who is anyone to put an end to a life. Every abortion is one less of a life which may have for example; cured a major disease, invented or did something revolutionary, or did something that made life better for everyone. It dosen’t have to be as far fetched and generic as those last examples, heres some other examples; mabye they become a good friend for someone and make it a better life for them somehow, mabye they’ll someone they married happy, or they’ll in some way save a life, allowing others to live. The aborted life may also just have been a regular everyday person that did nothing special, or do things that are negative intentionally or accidently. No life should be dismissed just becouse it didn’t match up to someone’s self intrest or personal gain. IT DOSEN’T MATTER IF YOU CAN NOT SUPPORT THE CHILD ”OR WORSE” DON’T WANT IT. I have no respect for anyone that had an abortion or took part in one. There is no way to forgive that, whats done is done. We all make choices, but in the end, our choices make us.

There is a BIGGER PROBLEM here! Why are so many women having unwanted pregnancies in the first place? I think if the pregnancy problems were better prevented, then abortions would not exist. Abortions are horrific regardless whether you are prolife or prochoice. I think EVERYONE would AGREE that if people were more careful there would be no problems. How do we educate people in to preventing unwanted pregnancies? It’s the source of the problem that causes so many other problems. If all pregnancies were planned no one would abort. It can be that easy!

if everyone is so worried about rising abortion rates, maybe we should educate our kids about safe sex instead of an abstinence only curriculum.
We should of been doing that since the beggining, but my belief stands about them being careless.
